The New York Jets are trying to go from a 7-10 team in 2023, to a Super Bowl contender this season. Aaron Rodgers being back under center can bring those type of expectations for nearly any franchise.
In less than one week the Jets will open their season on the road against the San Francisco 49ers, however, the Jets are currently the only team in the league dealing with a potential serious issue.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport highlighted how the Jets are now the only team in the league dealing with one major issue:
With Trent Williams ending his holdout, there is one left: Jets pass-rusher Haason Reddick.
Coach Robert Saleh said today there is nothing to report. As far as playing on Monday Night Football (MNF) if he reports:
“If and when he reports we’ll put him through some work with the training staff.

While the game plan for a defensive end is much less to absorb than the quarterback position, it will be interesting to see how much he does play if he winds up reporting.

The Jets will be going into a hostile environment in Santa Clara and will need to get Brock Purdy as uncomfortable as possible for a shot to win. Reddick could make that happen all by himself multiple times throughout a game if he actually suits up.
New York traded for Reddick this off-season with plans on signing him to a long term deal (something the Philadelphia Eagles weren’t committed to). However, after negotiations with the Jets’ front office broke down, Reddick is back to holding out until he gets a contract he thinks is fair.
