Coventry City favourite addresses transfer window interest and Premier League ambitions
Coventry City news from CoventryLive as Sky Blues favourite Milan van Ewijk discusses reported transfer interest from his native Netherlands
Milan van Ewijk admits he’s flattered by recent transfer interest but insists he’s fully “focused” on Coventry City and helping the club achieve its Premier League ambitions.
The 23-year-old Sky Blues star was linked with interest from PSV Eindhoven in the final days of the summer transfer, according to reports by De Telegraaf, having been reported by ESPN earlier in the final month of the window.
Asked about the speculation and whether he was aware of the reported interest, Van Ewijk said: “No I was not aware of that, I keep doing my own thing. These things can become a distraction but, for me, I just keep focusing on the games that I want to play.”
Put to him that the fact that he has been linked with the likes of PSV must be flattering to know that he is obviously doing the right things and that his career is progressing nicely, he said: “Oh, yeah, yeah. It’s nice to know that teams like that are watching me play and analysing me and things like that, but as I say, I’m just keeping my focus on Coventry and the games that I play because, for me, there’s no need to think about any transfer or anything. I will hear from my agents or the people higher up (if anything happens). So I am not really bothered by it.”
The popular right-back certainly appears really invested in Coventry City, a club with clear ambitions to get to the Premier League.
