Stoke City’s streamlined squad as five departures sanctioned in one week
Stoke City transfer business has carried on after deadline day as Steven Schumacher gets a handle on squad size
Deadline day has come and gone but Stoke City have still remained busy behind the scenes.
Friday was busy with the signings of Tom Cannon and Tatsuki Seko but in terms of numbers the focus has been going the other way. There have been five exits sanctioned since last Thursday evening.
Daniel Johnson, aged 31, has been released by mutual consent and gone on to join Fatih Karagumruk in the Turkish second tier. He was in the last year of his contract and hadn’t started a league game since February.
Lewis Baker, aged 29, has joined Blackburn on loan until the end of the season, when his contract runs up at Stoke. He came off the bench in a 1-1 draw with Burnley last Saturday.
