Sea Eagles and 4 Pines – scoring tries and planting trees together.

The sensational try scoring feats of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles this season have been much celebrated by fans, but it has also had a positive impact on the environment through the club’s Premier Partner, 4 Pines Brewing Company.

The Brookvale based 4 Pines Brewing Co have committed to plant 100 native trees, shrubs or grasses for every try scored by the Sea Eagles in 2024.

The Sea Eagles have played their part too, scoring 102 tries already leading into their final home game at a sold out 4 Pines Park on Sunday, September 8, against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

It means that over 10,200 trees will now be planted as part of 4 Pines’ overall commitment with Landcare Australia to plant up to 44,444 trees every year over 3 years from 2022.

Sea Eagles players Tom Trbojevic, Jake Trbojevic and Lachlan Croker recently joined local community group, Manly Lagoon Friends, in grabbing the shovels and putting on the garden gloves to plant four trees at Manly Lagoon on the Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Tom Trbojevic, who has crossed for 17 tries in 18 games this season, said it was a great opportunity to witness the program in action.

“Whenever you score a try in the NRL, it is always a very good feeling and we’ve been fortunate at Manly this year to score many tries,” Trbojevic said.

“For Jake, Lachlan, and I to get a glimpse of the work that goes in to tree planting off the back our try scoring efforts was fulfilling. Let’s hope the tries keep flowing and more trees keep getting planted.”

The remaining native trees, shrubs and ground covers will be planted at Billabong Farm in Woodstock. 4 Pines and Landcare Australia have already kicked off the planting at the property with some help from Glenn Morris and the team at Billabong Farm.
