Whatever happens’… Sheffield Wednesday handed damning verdict on Danny Rohl future.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl began this season as one of the hottest properties in English Football League management.
And whilst Danny Rohl’s stock remains very high, he’s certainly experiencing what might be his toughest times as a manager so no far.
Last season, Rohl had a free hit with Sheffield Wednesday who weren’t expected at all to achieve what they eventually did.
But last season’s heroics has certainly set a high bar for Rohl in what is his first full season in management, and so far his side have disappointed.
Three-straight defeats has left the Owls in 20th place of the Championship table.
Sheffield fans are not so far this season with his style of play, and particularly his set up when playing away from Hillsborough, coming under scrutiny.
The Sheffield boss signed new three year contract in the summer and so his medium-term future is secured, for the time being at least. But
Storey believes that Wednesday is a stepping stone for Rohl, on his way to bigger and better things, likely in his native Germany.
Storey said: “Managers have always had these purple patches, and then knowing when to make the most of those, and to join an environment where it enables you to get the best out of yourself.
“I don’t think there’s any sense yet that that’s not happening at Sheffield Wednesday. But I agree that, whatever happens here, he will move on to, effectively a ‘promotion’.
“Whether that’s in Germany , as I suspect it would be, or here.”
