Andrea Radrizzani shares his reaction to major Leeds United transfer update
The Whites have seen plenty of players leave the club over the summer months, including a number of them that had a significant impact at the club.
Leeds’ retained list suggested plenty of change with the old guard, seeing Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas leaving while uncertainty surrounded Liam Cooper’s future.
Leeds United confirm Liam Cooper’s exit on free transfer, Andrea Radrizzani reacts
Cooper’s contract expired at the start of the July, but there has been little in the way of an official update on his whereabouts until Wednesday this week.
The club confirmed the centre-back’s exit from Elland Road as he looks to pursue an opportunity abroad, joining CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria.
As the club shared a tribute to the former club captain, and vice versa, an interesting face reacted to the news in former owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Cooper had a huge impact at Leeds, and deserves a big tribute
Cooper is perhaps the most deserving out of anyone from that promotion-winning squad to get a tribute of some sort at Elland Road in the near future.
Whether that be a testimonial or something installed at the ground to commemorate the skipper’s 10 years at the club, something ought to be done.
As Radrizzani says, he was not only a leader, but a role model too and a very good one at that, which was needed at certain times while Cooper was here.
