Jeremy Sarmiento mocks Leeds United on social media after Burnley win at Elland Road
Burnley winger Jeremy Sarmiento has taken to social media to mock Leeds United after the Clarets took a 1-0 win from Elland Road.
The on-loan Brighton man posted on X [14 September] to pile the misery on Whites fans after they were found wanting in their defeat by Scott Parker’s men on Saturday.
Luca Koleosho’s goal separated the sides in West Yorkshire to drop Leeds to ninth in the Championship table.
Sarmiento – who played 27 minutes in the clash – shared an action shot of himself alongside the caption: “Putting the L in Elland Road.”
Leeds United are far from in a catastrophe after losing their unbeaten start to the season, but it’s still a bitter pill to swallow for Daniel Farke.
Parker’s Burnley are expected to be one of the club’s primary challengers for a spot back in the Premier League next term, and Leeds looked largely toothless going forward.
Professional footballers have a will to win which, in this day and age, now incorporates what gets said on social media as a motivation technique.
Do not be surprised to find out that upon Leeds’ short trip to Turf Moor for the reverse fixture in January, Sarmiento’s post is stuck on the dressing room wall or at least brought up by Farke, Ethan Ampadu or another senior figure in the team.
