Chris Sutton makes Everton relegation prediction in new Sean Dyche exit verdict
Everton will avoid relegation from the Premier League if Sean Dyche doesn’t exit Goodison Park, according to Chris Sutton.
The Toffees’ winless run to the league season continued with a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday (14 September) as Unai Emery’s side came from two goals down to claim all three points.
Calls for Dyche to be sacked have been increasing among supporters even though he reportedly has the backing of the board [Sky Sports, 13 September], but Sutton thinks he remains their best chance of dodging the drop.
Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live’s 606 (14 September, 2:10) he said: “Dominic Calvert-Lewin had some chances as well didn’t he?
“Do you know what? I’ll still maintain Rob that if Sean Dyche stays at Everton, he will keep them in the Premier League.”
Will Sean Dyche exit Everton after Goodison Park sack rumours
What has made Everton so frustrating to watch this season is the fact that there are elements of the Toffees’ performances that have been impressive and showed that they are capable of winning games.
But they are so easy to break down and they consistently fold under pressure when their opponents get a foothold in the game. Whether that is Dyche’s fault or the players, the blame will always be placed on the manager.
