Tom Brady has joked that David Beckham taught him unsavoury football chants during Birmingham City’s 3-1 win over Wrexham. The NFL legend – who is a minority owner of Birmingham – travelled to St Andrew’s on Monday to watch the League One top of the table clash alongside football icon Beckham.

The fixture was billed as a battle of celebrities due to Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney also owning Wrexham. That meant there were plenty of A-listers in the stands, including Beckham, who was a guest of Brady’s and sat next to the New England Patriots icon.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder took it upon himself to introduce Brady to a host of football chants, teaching him about the tradition of singing songs at the football. Brady, 47, thanked Beckham on Instagram for taking him under his wing, but did not specify exactly what the Englishman taught him.

Posting a picture of the pair grinning after full-time, Brady’s caption read: “What a night in BIRMINGHAM, Thanks for teaching me how to sing at a football match @davidbeckham, can’t repeat most of what was said [laughing emoji].”
