Release clause figure in Leeds United-linked manager’s contract revealed
West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has a release clause in his Baggies contract amidst talk of Leeds United being interested in the Spaniard.
Daniel Farke is under pressure at Elland Road after a slow start to the season that sees them sit ninth in the Championship league table at the moment.
The Leeds hierarchy are demanding promotion to the Premier League this year from the German after last season’s playoff final defeat heartbreak
His future at Leeds is not under any imminent threat and the club owners are keen to give him more time to turn things around in the coming weeks.
However, his long-term future at Elland Road remains under the scanner and Corberan is one of the managers the club are keeping tabs on.
The former Leeds United coach has a release clause in his West Brom contract
Corberan is not an unfamiliar name at Leeds as he was in charge of their Under-21 side previously and was part of Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team coaching staff as well.
The Spaniard has done well since becoming a manager and led West Brom to a top-six finish in the Championship last season.
He is someone Leeds would be interested in taking back to Elland Road if they have to sack Farke at some point this season if results do not see an upturn.
According to Football Insider, Corberan has a £2m release clause in his West Brom contract.
