‘No hiding’ admits Hull City’s Ryan Giles as Tigers try to settle into new way of working
The left-back has endured a mixed start to the new campaign
Ryan Giles admits there can be no hiding from the amount of change at Hull City during the summer, as the Tigers’ dressing room gets to grips with Tim Walter’s new philosophy.
Walter’s early weeks have been fraught with challenges on and off the pitch with a slow start to the summer recruitment and the changes have not yet reflected in positive results, with City now second bottom of the table after five games.
Friday night’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United leaves the Tigers without a win under Walter’s tenure with Giles hauled off at half-time along with debutant Abu Kamara, who played ahead of him on the left side, and they’ll hope to get that first success on Friday night at Stoke City, themselves beaten over the weekend.
“The style of play has been different, there’s no hiding from that,” Giles told the Tiger. “It has taken time to adapt to and even the new players coming in now, I know it will be challenging for them, but I think difference is good and that we can use it to our advantage.
