One former Leicester City star has had a difficult start to life away from the Foxes, but his new club insist there is nothing wrong.

It was a busy summer of ins and outs for Leicester, who signed nine players and moved on plenty of deadwood.

Many of those who Steve Cooper allowed to leave had either reached the end of their contracts or had been loaned out to get vital first-team minutes ahead of challenging for a place at the King Power Stadium.

Players such as Dennis Praet have been able to find new clubs while Marc Albrighton decided to retire from football, but for one player, it’s not been as smooth sailing as he would’ve hoped.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s absence sparks concern for Sevilla fans
Of those who left, FA Cup winner Kelechi Iheanacho was one of the players to depart.

The 27-year-old joined Spanish outfit Sevilla after seven years at the Foxes which included winning the Championship, FA Cup, and Community Shield, as well as a run to the semi-finals of the Conference League.

But after being restricted to a bit-part role under Enzo Maresca in his final season, a new challenge awaited in LaLiga. Unfortunately for the forward, it hasn’t gone to plan so far.

Iheanacho has had just 75 minutes of action across two league games so far and has failed to score, mustering just a single shot on target.

It’s led to concern from some Sevilla supporters, according to local media, about the Nigeria international’s fitness after he missed the last two games, with others speculating that there may be a problem between Iheanacho and manager, Garcia Pimienta.

In a bid to quash the rumours, Sevilla responded to the report insisting that there is no problem with Iheanacho’s fitness and that he has arrived ready to play.

Additionally, the Spanish club confirmed that he and Pimienta’s relationship is very much intact and that they are managing his minutes while Iheanacho adapts to a new country.
