Sheaf, Dasilva, Latibeaudiere – Coventry City injury latest as star midfielder suffers setback
Coventry City injury news from CoventryLive as Sky Blues skipper Ben Sheaf remains a concern after making his comeback against Tottenham
Ben Sheaf received a warm reception when he returned to the pitch for Coventry City for the final 20 minutes of Wednesday night’s pulsating Carabao Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
But there was more worrying news after the final whistle when manager Mark Robins revealed the player has suffered yet another setback to his bid for full fitness this season. And the Sky Blues skipper is not the only concern, with full-back Jay Dasilva missing last night’s match with an ankle injury and Joel Latibeaudiere also left out with muscle fatigue due to an accumulation of games.
The two defenders, however, are expected to recover in time for Saturday’s Championship clash with Swansea City at the CBS Arena, although Sheaf remains a doubt.
“Ben was icing his ankle in the dressing room and I am hoping it’s nothing bad but I don’t know yet,” said the manager, speaking after the 2-1 home defeat by Spurs.
“Jay picked up a knock on Saturday at Watford but I am hoping he is on track for this weekend, while Joel Latibeaudiere was rested because he was cramping up in the last game.”
