Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the US takeover must sell his share in Crystal Palace and present a cogent “financial structure” for the Merseysiders before that deadline.

Textor, who has the backing of Aliya Capital Partners, is in negotiations to secure a full takeover at Everton.

However, Wyness told Football Insider (18 September) that the US investor does not have an exclusive agreement with the club over a potential buyout.

Earlier this month (12 September), Everton insisted “there remains some work to be done to complete the transaction”.

Textor must sell his 45% share in fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace before he will be allowed to take charge at Goodison Park.
