Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is on the radar of Manchester United, reporter Alan Nixon has said on his Patreon.
Sunderland are a club renowned for their development of young players, bringing many talents through the academy ranks and into the first-team on Wearside.
Anthony Patterson is among those to have become a fixture in the Black Cats’ starting XI over the past couple of years. He’s emerged as one of the best goalkeepers in the country outside the Premier League, and that has not gone unnoticed.

Plenty of top-flight clubs have been linked with the 24-year-old, and a new name has emerged in fresh reports.
According to reporter Alan Nixon, Sunderland shot-stopper Patterson is of interest to Premier League giants Manchester United.
Erik Ten Hag wants new competition for Andre Onana and Patterson, who is rated at around £20m by the Black Cats, is being eyed. Liverpool and Crystal Palace are also cited as admirers of the ‘keeper.

As a talented English goalkeeper with the best years of his career firmly ahead of him, Patterson is not going to be moving on the cheap any time soon.

That will only be helped by the length of his contract at Sunderland. The Black Cats tied him down to new terms in September of last year, keeping him on a deal at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2028.

As such, there’s no pressure to cash in on the academy graduate, despite the high profile interest in his services. That will only ramp up his price tag if those keen are to firm up their admiration with a move.
Looking ahead
While speculation rumbles on around Patterson and some of the other prized assets at the Stadium of Light, the focus will be on getting back to winning ways for Regis Le Bris and co.
Sunderland were beaten by Watford on Saturday afternoon, falling to a 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road.
