Update regarding Derby County’s Nat Phillips emerges after Sunderland substitution
Derby County defender Nat Phillips was taken off with a ‘touch of cramp’ against Sunderland, as detailed in a report by DerbyshireLive.
Derby County handed the Liverpool loanee his first start in their clash at the Stadium of Light. They ended up losing 2-0 to the Black Cats after goals by Jobe Bellingham and Wilson Isidor.
Phillips, 27, was substituted in the second-half of the match in the North East. This raised fears as to whether he has sustained an injury.
However, in this latest update regarding his condition, DerbyshireLive report Paul Warne decided to take him off as a ‘precaution’ and he hasn’t suffered any damage which is good news for his team. The Rams have lost their last two matches on the spin after they were also beaten 3-2 at home by Norwich City last weekend.
They will be eager to bounce back this Saturday as they welcome QPR to Pride Park.
Good injury news for Derby County
The fact Phillips isn’t injured is a boost for Derby County.
He was signed by the Rams on a temporary basis to bolster their defensive department.
