3 midfielders Leeds United should consider after Daniel Farke’s free agent admission
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has said that it would be remiss of him not to consider free agent players amid their Ilia Gruev injury concern.
Leeds United midfielder Gruev injured himself during the first half of Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road.
The Whites fought hard to claim a point after Josh Sargent’s penalty gave the Canaries a first-half lead.
Largie Ramazani pulled Farke’s side level with a well-taken goal but it was Gruev’s injury that was seen as a bigger issue arising from the game. Since breaking into the side, the Bulgarian international has become a vital cog in the Leeds United machine.
Whilst admitting to the Yorkshire Evening Post that he’s not the biggest fan of delving into the free-agent market, Leeds United boss Farke did say that it is an option.
“I think it’s one of our professional duties to be aware and also to check who is perhaps available and what we could do,” he said.
Gruev is due to undergo further tests to ascertain the degree of severity of his injury. It remains to be seen if the 24-year-old is to miss a considerable amount of time.
