Norwich City transfer news: Emiliano Marcondes deal ‘close’
Emiliano Marcondes is close to becoming a Norwich City player, according to reports from his native Denmark.
The Canaries have been exploring the possibility of entering the free agent market after injuries to Onel Hernandez, Ashley Barnes and Christian Fassnacht, with the 29-year-old one of the options considered.
Now Tipsbladet claim the final details on a deal between the parties are being completed, and that Marcondes is set to sign for Norwich.
That means reuniting with former boss Johannes Hoff Thorup, who’s currently head coach at Carrow Road and worked with his compatriot at Danish club Nordsjaelland.
Thorup signed the attacking midfielder on loan from Bournemouth just four days after taking the top job with the Tigers, and now appears to be honing in on a second spell together.
Marcondes has been training with Nordsjaelland to retain fitness, having been released by the Cherries this summer. He’s previously played for Brentford, and ended his time on the south coast with a loan spell at Hibernian.
