‘Top class’ player now spotted in Newcastle United training ahead of Everton on Saturday.
Newcastle United have received a triple injury boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Everton.
While the Magpies are set to be without Alexander Isak due to a toe injury, there does at least appear to be some positive injury news heading into the game at Goodison Park.
Eddie Howe’s players have been training ahead of the clash with Everton, with Newcastle United releasing a selection of images from Thursday’s session on their official website.
There were plenty of big names missing, but that was likely by design. The players involved were those who either did not play against Wimbledon or only played a maximum of 45 minutes. That includes the likes of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes, who are predicted to start for Newcastle against Everton.

Nick Pope and Kieran Trippier were also spotted in training, after they missed the Wimbledon game due to injury.
Trippier was forced off against Manchester City with an injury problem, and subsequently sat out the Carabao Cup tie at St James’ Park. But he has trained, which suggests he will be available to face to the Toffees.
The 34-year-old will be hoping this trip to Goodison Park goes better than the last, with Trippier making key errors as Newcastle lost 3-0.
That was a concern, but it appears that he is over the issue. Newcastle fans received encouragement when Pope was named in the England squad, and he has now been pictured in Toon training.
That is excellent news, as it would be disastrous if the Magpies were without their first choice stopper. He has been outstanding this season, with Eddie Howe describing Pope as ‘top class’ after the recent 2-1 win over Wolves.
Matt Targett also back in Newcastle training after injury
Trippier and Pope have trained ahead of Everton, and so has Matt Targett.
The left-back has once again been enduring an injury ridden season. After recovering from an Achilles issue that had plagued him last season, Targett then suffered from a bout of eczema.
That meant he was unable to train, but the 29-year-old is back involved now and will be keen to make his first senior Newcastle United appearance since November 1st 2023 in the very near future.
It has been a rotten period of Targett’s career, suffering injury after injury. The hope will now be that he can stay fit for a sustained period of time.
Howe recently praised Targett ahead of his return to fitness, describing him as one of the best technical players in his Newcastle United squad.
