Former Hull City defender Cyrus Christie is on the cusp of joining the Tigers’ Championship rivals Swansea City after leaving the MKM Stadium earlier this year.

Christie was released by the Tigers at the end of last season, bringing an end to a two-year spell in East Yorkshire after leaving Fulham, which saw him amass 56 appearances in his two seasons at the club.

The 32-year-old is training with the Swans in a bid to earn a contract in South Wales with Luke Williams’ side over the course of the international break and has been joined by former Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom midfielder Adam Reach, according to BBC Sport.

Christie is no stranger to the South Wales club having enjoyed a successful loan spell in 2022, and in fact, received a warm welcome when he came back with the Tigers, while Reach, like Christie, arrives with a wealth of experience made played 470 appearances in his senior career.

Williams, the former Notts County promotion-winning boss, has been keen to strengthen his squad since the end of the transfer window, and will view both Christie and Reach as two dependable, experienced campaigners at Championship level, providing the Swans can get both deals over the line.

Should Christie complete a move back to Swansea, he won’t have to wait too long for a potential reunion with the Tigers given Williams’ side are due in East Yorkshire in the final outing before Christmas, on December 21 with the return in South Wales scheduled for Good Friday, April 18.
