First it was Raphael Borges Rodrigues. Then it was Ben Sheaf. Next up the luckless Tatsuhiro Sakamoto who limped away from the CBS Arena in a protective ankle boot against Norwich, forcing him to sit out the following match, before being stretchered off after just ten minutes against Blackburn Rovers with a deep gash to a knee.

Then there was Jamie Allen whose knee gave way against Swansea, the midfielder suffering serious ligament damage before, most recently, Jake Bidwell limped off against Sheffield Wednesday following a crunching tackle that has left the rugged full-back with a knee ligament injury.

The Sky Blues have had at least one first team player in the treatment room in recent years – Callum O’Hare missing for nine months with an ACL, Fabio Tavares a year out with a ruptured Achilles tendon, Sakamoto three months with a broken back, Jamie Allen with a heart scare and later fracture cheekbone… The list goes on.
