For Steve Cooper, it’s been trickier. He’s followed a very successful manager at Leicester City, one who was well-liked by the squad. He’s had to bear that in mind, and consider the tactics that got City to the Premier League, as he puts together his own plan to try to keep them there.

No player in the City starting line-up is as assured of their spot as Mads Hermansen. Not only has been the club’s best performer so far this season, but he’s been one of the best goalkeepers in the division too.

In the Championship, he showed he was a good shot-stopper, but really the focus was on his ability with his feet, and he excelled. Now in the Premier League, it’s all about keeping the ball out of the net, and even though he has conceded 12 times, he’s been superb, not least in making 13 saves against Arsenal, one short of a Premier League record, including four high-class stops.
