Liam Payne: West Brom pay tribute to Baggies fan and former One Direction star as singer dies aged 31
West Bromwich Albion have paid tribute to one of their most famous supporters, who has tragically died at just 31-years-old
The 31-year-old singer from Wolverhampton died outside a hotel in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires, local media reported.
He had reportedly fallen from the third floor of the building. Payne has a son called Bear from his previous relationship with singer Cheryl.
Born in the Heath Town area of Wolverhampton, Liam was a big West Brom fan, often attending games at The Hawthorns over the years.
The club expressed their sadness in a post on social media. A statement from West Brom on Twitter, read: “We’re shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Baggies fan and musician, Liam Payne.
“Our thoughts are with Liam’s family, friends and loved ones at this tragic time.”
