‘Pressure will mount’ – Luton Town vs Watford prediction: The72

The72’s writers offer their Luton Town vs Watford prediction ahead of the Championship clash on Saturday.

Luton Town host Watford this weekend in their latest Championship fixture at Kenilworth Road.
Luton Town were beaten 2-0 away at Sheffield United last time out. They were relegated from the Premier League earlier this year after finishing in the bottom three with the Blades and Burnley.

The Hatters have made a slow start to the new season though and find themselves sat in 21st place in the Championship table. They have won only two of their first nine fixtures and are only a point above the relegation zone.

Rob Edwards’ side need to hit form soon if they are to match their aims of securing an immediate return to the top flight.

As for Watford, they have been decent so far in this campaign under the guidance of Tom Cleverley. The Hornets beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at home in their last game.

They are 6th and are inside the play-offs by a point above Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers as they look to keep their momentum going with some more positive results over the coming weeks and months.
