Oliver Glasner says two Crystal Palace stars are unlikely to play again until the end of November.
The 2024/25 campaign has been far from an enjoyable one for Crystal Palace fans so far.
Supporters are yet to see a settle starting XI take to the field at Selhurst Park or elsewhere, with Oliver Glasner still figuring out his best side after a summer of significant turnover, as Joachim Andersen, Jordan Ayew and Michael Olise all departed.
Furthermore, Cheick Doucoure has struggled to stay fit, Adam Wharton has been taking painkillers to get through games, while Daniel Munoz also suffered an injury before the international break.
The vast array of fitness issues – and tactical problems too – have left Crystal Palace 18th in the Premier League at the time of writing.

Chris Richards and Chadi Riad are also injured – and Glasner has now provided an update on the defensive duo.

Speaking ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest, the Austrian provided an update on the United States international and the Morocco international.
The South London Press quote Glasner as saying: “Chris is now working on the pitch with his rehab.
“He’s getting closer. I don’t expect them (Richards or Riad) to play before the next international break in November.
“It was not so serious (the injury to Richards) but on a bad spot of the muscle. We have to be very careful that we don’t get a re-injury.”
Riad suffered a knee injury during the 4-0 Carabao Cup win over Norwich back in August.
In regards to Richards, the American hurt his hamstring in training at Copers Cope before the 2-1 defeat against Everton.
Our first game back after the next international break comes against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday 23rd November – if the duo are not fit enough to take part in that match, they should be ready for a clash against Newcastle on Saturday 30th November at Selhurst Park.

Fortunately for Glasner, Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Selhurst Park – has recruited efficiently when it comes to the centre of our defence.
Despite injuries to Riad and Richards, we are still able to select a strong backline with the likes of Marc Guehi, Maxence Lacroix and Trevoh Chalobah available.
