Sunderland’s Luke O’Nien has heaped praise on Wilson Isidor after their win away at Hull City.
Sunderland won 1-0 at the MKM Stadium on Sunday afternoon and the attacker got himself on the scoresheet in East Yorkshire.
Isidor, 24, broke away on the counter attack for the Black Cats and managed to chip the ball into the past goalkeeper Ivor Pandur despite pressure from the Tigers’ full-back Cody Drameh.
Speaking after the game, O’Nien hailed his teammate and said, as per an interview with Sky Sports Football on X: “Credit to the staff, we worked hard on transition this week in terms of every time the ball drops just spin it in-behind. Wilson is so fast, honestly he burns us all in training. He got his just rewards for working really hard. Great finish, especially running away from their full-back (Cody Drameh) because he’s fast as well. Some goal from him.”

They had a couple of refereeing decisions go their way against the Tigers and were fortunate to still have 11 men on the field when it appeared Chris Mepham got away with a handball on the stroke of half-time.
Regis Le Bris’ side are back in action on Wednesday night with an away trip to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town as they look to keep their momentum going.
