Steve Parish respects manager with 41 Premier League wins he could replace Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace.

The unfathomable has happened as Oliver Glasner now finds himself fighting for his future at Crystal Palace.

In stark contrast to the end of last season – in which Crystal Palace won six and drew one of the final seven Premier League outings – the 2024/25 campaign is yet to yield a single victory after eight games, leaving us 18th.

Even Bayern Munich wanted to hire Glasner back in April as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel, after the Austrian took to life in England like a duck to water – evidently, a lot can change in football, and fast.

Now, sources have shared some information regarding Oliver Glasner with We Are Palace – after Steve Parish watched Crystal Palace lose to Nottingham Forest on Monday night.

Graham Potter and David Moyes on red alert as Steve Parish could sack Oliver Glasner
We Are Palace understand the man from Schärding could genuinely be sacked if results do not improve soon, with Graham Potter and David Moyes – who are both available – aware of the situation at Selhurst Park.

The latter has been out of work since the end of last season after West Ham opted to embark on a new adventure with Julen Lopetegui – who once rejected Crystal Palace.

In regards to Potter, the man with 41 Premier League wins has been unemployed since Chelsea sacked him back in April 2023.

Sources inform We Are Palace that Glasner’s job was under threat at the start of October, and the situation has only worsened as Crystal Palace remain without a win in the Premier League.

Parish and others in the boardroom at Selhurst Park understand the summer transfer window was not ideal – as Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen both departed – but feel the current issues go beyond recruitment.

We Are Palace also understand that Crystal Palace insist talks with other managers have not taken place, although Parish is believed to be a huge admirer of Potter, and holds great respect for the 49-year-old.

There have also been whispers about Gareth Southgate taking the reins, but We Are Palace understand the 54-year-old is not a genuine candidate to replace Glasner as things stand, despite his connections to Crystal Palace.

Oliver Glasner deserves time to improve Crystal Palace
As aforesaid, Bayern Munich wanted Glasner in April – the Austrian is a fantastic coach, one we would struggle to find an improvement on at this moment in time.

Of course, he is not bulletproof despite a stunning end to last season, and some decisions, such as playing Eddie Nketiah on the right, are particularly concerning.

However, we cannot continue to sack managers at the first sign of trouble like we did with Patrick Vieira – Glasner deserves time to overturn the current situation.
