Sunderland weren’t at their best in the last outing against Hull City. But a 1-0 win in a game where they’re not at full speed is certainly the sign of a title contender.
Wilson Isidor scored a controversial goal for Sunderland who claimed the narrow win at the MKM Stadium, keeping them in 1st place of the Championship table.
Manager Regis Le Bris continue to earn plaudits following this whirlwind start to the new season.
He’s got a Black Cats side that slumped to a 16th place finish last season, now firing and playing as a unit, with several individuals having looked really impressive so far this season.
Up next is a trip to Luton Town. It’s a repeat of the 2022/23 Championship play-off semi-finals which the Hatters won, on their way to earning promotion to the Premier League.
