Aaron Rodgers Reveals 3-Word Solution On Fixing Jets.
The New York Jets knew they needed a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers to keep their flailing season alive; instead, they suffered a 37-15 loss, with the offense shut out after halftime at Acrisure Stadium. Now, a season that was already on the brink of collapse is on the verge of ending before we even get to November, and Aaron Rodgers, along with the defense, has to figure out a plan of attack. But after such a poor second-half performance, how does the team get this troubled train back on the tracks? For Rodgers, it’s all mental.
“It’s a belief,” Rodgers said. “You got to have culture changers amidst the talent to steer things in the right direction. There’s a lot of us leaders to try and do that week to week, but it comes down to each individual making the right decisions during the week, preparation and going out and playing as well as they can, and trusting each other. I’ve been loving the messaging that Brick’s [Jeff Ulbirch] brought to us, and we had three great speakers at the team meeting, the energy seemed really good.
“But for whatever reason, it just kind of seemed a little flat and warm-ups. I mean Sunday Night Football on NBC, only show on TV, I live for these games, and I just don’t quite understand why the energy was a little bit flat.” With so much going wrong, does the locker room, despite the addition of Davante Adams and, sooner, Haason Reddick, have belief in one another and the system? Right now, it doesn’t feel like it, and that is a slippery slope. Related: Low Energy? Aaron Rodgers Gives
Startling Rebuke of Jets One can easily make the case that, given the talent on the roster, the Jets are better than a 2-5 team, but as the saying goes, a champion team will always beat a team of champions, and right now, despite the obvious talent, the Jets just aren’t clicking as a team. And if the quarterback doesn’t know why, then that, my friends, isn’t a good spot to be in.
