Three Players Jets Could Sell Before Trade Deadline
After their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, the New York Jets are 2-5 in 2024. The Jets had plenty of hype entering the season with a healthy Aaron Rodgers and most of their impressive defense returning from last season. However, they have been extremely inconsistent so far, and have now put themselves in a hole that they may not be able to get out of by the end of this season.
With Rodgers turning 41 in December, it may be time for the team to look towards their future and begin collecting draft picks. There are multiple players on the roster that the Jets could trade away at the deadline for decent returns. One player that New York could trade that has already been the subject of multiple rumors is receiver Mike Williams. After the Jets traded for Davante Adams last week, Williams simply fell out of favor on the depth chart. He is still a capable receiver, so a receiver-needy team could be more than willing to trade for his talents.
Another player that is on an expiring contract and has fallen in the depth chart is cornerback Isaiah Oliver. With Brandin Echols stepping up this season, there is not as much room for Oliver in the cornerback room. He could be a decent depth piece for another team.
