Fabian Hürzeler has assured Brighton won't underestimate Wolves' quality this weekend.

Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler delivers generous verdict on Wolves.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s head coach believes Wolves have shown the capability to gain points from every fixture played so far this season.

Hürzeler has kept an eye on Wanderers’ performances in preparation for this weekend’s clash and he believes they’ve been competitive. The reality – on paper at least – couldn’t be more contrasting as the Old Gold are rock bottom of the Premier League with merely one point from the 24 available, but Hürzeler is wary.

“They play well and in every game they have had the chance to win or draw. We won’t underestimate them because they have quality and they defend very compactly,” Hürzeler told the media on Thursday.

“They have the individual players to make good transitions – Semedo, Ait-Nouri, Cunha. Lemina is a good ball carrier, Strand Larsen is a good target player. One thing that won’t happen, especially in the Premier League, you can’t underestimate any opponent.

“You have to pay attention for 90 minutes, be good in counter-pressing, and make the next step as a team. It will be a big, big challenge and we have to prepare with all our focus and with all our thoughts.” Hürzeler continued.

Brighton, fifth in the Premier League with four wins, three draws and one defeat, look to be in European contention this season. But even then, their manager has great respect for Wolves and recognises Gary O’Neil’s men will put up a good fight.

That determination was of course shown in the Carabao Cup clash at the American Express Stadium just a month or so ago. Although Wanderers lost 3-2, the performance in the second half was excellent. More of that this time around and Wolves could cause an upset.
