‘Dominant’ Steelmen go back to the top of the table as Nomads are beaten
Corby Town boss Gary Setchell was delighted at his team’s ‘dominant’ showing in Tuesday night’s impressive 2-0 win at Anstey Nomads.
First-half goals from Tristan Thompson-Matthews and Rory McAuley prioved to be enough for the Steelmen to claim all three points and return to the top of the Pitching-In Northern Premier League table.
And Setchell was once again a happy man as his side followed up Saturday’s 7-0 demolition of Long Eaton United with another win, their third on the spin since losing their only game to date, at home to title rivals Quorn.
“I am as delighted with the performance as I am with the result, and I thought we dominated from start to finish,” Setchell told @corbytownfc.
“Their keeper has kept them in it as we have had three or four one-on-ones which he saved, and we were good value for the win.
