Stuart Dallas shares honest thoughts on Leeds United’s draw
Leeds United’s recent two-match winning streak came to a halt on Saturday as they settled for a scoreless draw against Bristol City at Ashton Gate Stadium.
Following back-to-back wins after the FIFA international break—a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United and a 2-1 win against Watford at Elland Road—Daniel Farke’s side aimed to continue their momentum but couldn’t break through mid-table Bristol City.
Leeds United came out strong in the first half, firing eight shots to Bristol City’s three, yet the score stayed locked at 0-0 by halftime. Leeds United turned up the pressure in the second half with nine more shots, while Bristol City managed just one. Despite creating plenty of chances, neither team was able to find the back of the net.
Stuart Dallas joined the Sky Sports panel to cover Saturday afternoon’s Championship action, sharing his thoughts on Leeds United’s draw on the road.
“It keeps you ticking along, I touched on it before about winning your home games, Leeds have a habit of doing that,” Dallas said (h/t Leeds All Over).
“You know having worked under the manager, he’ll be pleased with a point, obviously would he have liked to have won the game? Of course, but he’s experienced, he knows what it takes to get out of the league, they’ve had a few tough away games this season, that’s another one ticked off today where they’ve got a clean sheet. They’ve had a tough week, and they’ll go home happy with a point.”
The draw came at a cost as right-back Jayden Bogle will miss the next match after his fifth yellow card of the season for a foul on substitute Sinclair Armstrong in the 67th minute, ruling him out of the game against Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth Argyle.
Sam Byram is expected to move to the left side when Firpo returns from his suspension this weekend. Byram delivered a solid and reliable performance at Bristol City, so he should be able to make the transition without any issues.
