Latest injury update provides Leeds United with boost.
Leeds United will face Plymouth Argyle next Saturday and Wayne Rooney’s squad already is suffering a setback that dashes their hopes of securing a positive result at Elland Road.
After two consecutive home wins following the FIFA international break, Leeds United struggled to find the net in a scoreless draw against Bristol City on Saturday at Ashton Gate Stadium.
The Whites had previously secured a 2-0 win over Sheffield United and a 2-1 victory over Watford at Elland Road. With these results, Daniel Farke’s side aimed to carry their momentum on the road against mid-table Bristol City.

Plymouth Argyle are also coming off a draw, but their contest finished 3-3 against Preston, so they’ll look to carry this goal-scoring form into their match against Leeds United. However, they’ll be without a key player on their defense that could allow the Yorkshire side to take advantage.
Plymouth Argyle to miss key player on defense

Defender Lewis Gibson is likely to miss Plymouth Argyle’s upcoming away game against Leeds United next Saturday due to a thigh injury that kept him out of their 3-3 draw with Preston North End at Home Park.
Gibson had been a key player, featuring in every minute of Plymouth’s first 11 Championship matches and standing out as one of their most consistent performers. He sustained the injury during last Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Millwall, and although he finished that match, he wasn’t fit to play against Preston.
“He picked up an injury in the last game,” Rooney said about Gibson (h/t Plymouth Herald). “We have been nursing it this week. I think he will be doubtful for next week and then after that we will see how he is.
“We were going to take him off (against Millwall) actually. He felt he could carry on but it was too sore for him to play today or probably next week as well.”
Leeds United will also be without a key defender. Right-back Jayden Bogle will miss the next match after receiving a one-game suspension for a foul on substitute Sinclair Armstrong in the 67th minute. This yellow card marked Bogle’s fifth of the season, ruling him out for the game against Wayne Rooney’s Pilgrims.
