Key Derby County man issues fitness update ahead of Stoke City clash
Derby County had to battle back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw with Hull City at the weekend – but the game did not pass by without a few injury concerns
Ebou Adams insists he has come through Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Hull City unscathed after concerns the midfielder had picked up a knock.
The 28-year-old turned in another industrious performance at Pride Park as the Rams battled back from a goal down to take a point thanks to Dajaune Brown’s first goal for the club.
Adams has played all but nine minutes of Derby County’s last ten games and established himself as a key player in a workmanlike side that is making a good first of their first season back in the Championship.
Indeed, it is difficult to imagine a Derby team without Adams in it with concern whenever the former Cardiff man hits the deck – as he did against the Tigers.
Adams was quick to allay concerns: “I am full on. I will give 110 per cent a little bit of a tweak but it is not my hamstring, it’s just feeling the load of playing three games,” he told RamsTV . “It’s a tough week, the gaffer is expecting me to give everything. As long as I give everything I feel happy. Please don’t feel worried it’s just me being a little bit silly, enjying my football but I am playing with a smile on my face.”
He was not feeling especially smiley about the fact Derby have been held to three draws in the last eight days, 1-1 scorelines being recorded at Millwall, Oxford and again at the weekend.
