EFL release statement as Norwich City chief replaces former Hull City vice-chairman Tan Kesler Zoe Webber has been appointed to the EFL Board as the new Championship representative.
The English Football League have moved quickly to replace former Hull City vice-chairman Tan Kesler on its board after confirming Norwich City’s Zoe Webber as the Championship representative.
Kesler vacated his role on the EFL board immediately after he departed the MKM Stadium earlier this month, bringing an end to his near-three-year spell at City, having joined with Acun Ilicali when he completed his takeover in January 2022.
Currently an executive director at City’s Championship rivals, Webber is a trustee of the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation and she also served previously as an alternate director on the EFL Board and on the EFL’s commercial committee.

“It is an honour to have been appointed as a Championship representative on the EFL Board,” she said. “I’m looking forward to working with Board colleagues and clubs at a time when there are so many important issues to navigate. I also hope to be able to provide a fresh perspective across several key areas of our work.”
Meanwhile, EFL chairman Rick Parry added: “We are delighted to welcome Zoe onto the Board. In Zoe, we have someone who brings vast experience in the football industry and a sound understanding of the landscape from both a club and league perspective. Her background in football administration and current roles at both Norwich City and the Community Sports Foundation make her a great addition and we’re looking forward to working alongside her in the years ahead.”

The League Two representative on the EFL Board is Crewe Alexandra chairman Charles Grant, while our remaining Board positions are held by independent non-executive directors Caroline Artis and Justine Roberts CBE, our CEO Trevor Birch, and Rick Parry.
City have not commented publicly since Kesler’s sudden departure and it’s understood owner Acun Ilicali is not planning on discussing his exit, either. Hull Live understands a replacement will not be sought externally, instead a reshuffle of existing staff has taken place.
