Joe is a product of he famous Sky Blue Academy conveyor belt of talent. However, his Sky Blue experience ended up being minimal before he left Coventry to further his professional career. His debut Sky Blue season came in 2011-12 after working his way through the various age cohorts within the Academy. His first team debut (and sole Sky Blue appearance) came off the bench for Andy Thorn‘s Sky Blues at the end of the season (28th April) as a 72nd minute substitute for Jordan Willis (now both fellow CCFPA members). This came in the Sky Blues game at Southampton, a match which we lost by four clear goals!

In March 2012, Joe also had a work experience loan spell at local Conference North side Nuneaton Town without appearing in the Borough’s first team. Later in the season he was also loaned to Bedworth Town where he got first team minutes under his belt. He also played in some CCFC pre season first team games prior to the start of the 2012-13 season.

He was eventually released by the Sky Blues on 15th May 2013 and the following August signed for Daventry Town making thirteen appearances in all competitions netting once for the non league side before moving to AFC Rushden & Diamonds before Xmas 2013. With R&D Joe made 23 appearances (scoring twice) before rejoining Southern Football League Division One Central side Daventry Town for season 2015-16. Over this period it is reported that he also played some games for Rugby Town and Woodford United (in October 2014).
