Bears activate OT Larry Borom off IR, elevate 2 others
The Chicago Bears activated offensive tackle Larry Borom off injured reserve and made some other roster moves ahead of their Week 9 road matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Chicago also elevated offensive tackle Jake Curhan and cornerback Reddy Steward from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
Borom, 25, has yet to play a regular season game in 2024 after he injured his ankle during the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Borom was drafted in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has appeared in 39 games (23 starts) during his first three seasons with Chicago. He primarily plays on the right side of the offensive line. His 21-day practice window opened on Oct. 23. The Bears had an open roster spot after they placed Bill Murray (pectoral) on the IR this week.
Borom is expected to start with starting left tackle Braxton Jones (knee) ruled out for Sunday’s contest in Arizona. Backup Kiran Amegadjie (calf) has also been ruled out.
It’s the first elevation for Steward and Curhan.
