Garrett Wilson Sends Aaron Rodgers’ ‘Trust’ Message.

The New York Jets season has a faint pulse, and they can thank Garrett Wilson’s play for that. In the 21-13 win over the Houston Texans, Wilson was the main instigator in the Jets’ turnaround in the second half. Wilson would finish his night with nine catches for 90 yards and two one-handed touchdown grabs. His first was a 21-yard touchdown in which Wilson had to stretch to make the catch before racing away to the endzone, but his second was even better. With the Jets facing a third-and-19, Aaron Rodgers let fly to the endzone, and Wilson, in Odell Beckham Jr. fashion, reached out, put one claw up, and managed to snag the football and get his shin inbounds in what some are calling the play of the year. But Garrett knows his two touchdowns don’t happen with the

trust Rodgers has in him. “I mean, it all starts with the quarterback having to trust in me and the fact that he did and in those situations to go and make a play, I don’t take for granted,” Wilson said. “So after that, it’s just my turn to do my job, and I’m glad I was able to make those plays, but at the end of the day, if I didn’t make them, I’m feeling a whole different way.” Some have stated that Wilson’s acrobatic catch saved the Jets’ season. If he hadn’t completed it, New York, who was at the Houston 26-yard line, would have had to settle for a field goal and, instead of being ahead 14-10,

would have been tied at 10-10 and who knows how the rest of the game plays out. Now, with a mini-bye, before they face the Arizona Cardinals, the Jets get a chance to rest up and attack the rest of the season because while the win was badly needed, every game from here on feels like a playoff game.
