First win feeling! The Utah Jazz (1-6) topple the Chicago Bulls (3-4) with a 135-126 victory to secure their first win of the regular season. The Jazz were missing Lauri Markkanen, Jordan Clarkson, Taylor Hendricks and Isaiah Collier while the Bulls were missing Zach LaVine.
Utah started nicely in this one with an early lead. Kyle Filipowski and Cody Williams looked great early to give the Jazz a decent advantage. The Bulls crept closer and closer after the Jazz came out hot early with a 15-point lead in the second quarter. Once the final 12 minutes were upon us, the Jazz took control and created an offensive barrage that was too much for the Bulls to handle.
Keyonte George’s impact was undeniable — he fueled 32 points and 9 assists on 8/19 shooting while being defended by Chicago’s Ayo Dosunmu. He bounced back from a tough 6-game stretch to start the season, where he only made 27 of his 89 attempts (30.3%). He took control of this game in the fourth quarter, nailing 12 points and 3 triples to shut down the game in a 9-point victory.
He felt way more confident than he has been, his scoring impact came off a versatile set of moves with the flashes of an all-star. He nailed 6 triples from beyond the arc to go along with his creativity in the paint. That includes a steal and slam from the defensive end.
