Can Garrett Wilson’s Jets Move On From Emotional Loss?
The New York Jets’ 31-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium put the final nail their 2024 coffin with playoffs now looking very unlikely, and in truth, the team hasn’t played like unit destined for the postseason. Sitting at 3-7 and pulling every lever possible to generate some positive momentum, the Jets, after a stirring win over the Houston Texans in Week 9, reverted to their old selves and were unable to capitalize on their long drives. With another blowout loss, Garrett Wilson detailed how the team can begin to move past it as the team struggles to keep its head above water. “Just go and put a good week in [of practice],” Wilson said. “We got to figure out what happened, so watch the film, get on it right away, and just squash it man you got to. That’s really all we can do is just go have a good week of prep and get ready to play the Colts.” The Jets’ first two possessions
resulted in field goals and were 13-play drives, with one ending at the Cardinals’ seven-yard line and the other at the 27. The Cardinals responded to the Jets’ field goals with touchdowns, and that was the story of the game. When New York stuttered, Arizona cashed in, scoring on its first five offensive drives, four of which were touchdowns. Now, at 3-7 and the season shot, the only way is up for this Jets team, and with the Indianapolis Colts, who push the Buffalo Bills, up next, it doesn’t get any easier for this reeling New York team.
