Tottenham backed to sign pre-agreement with £15m England international in January.
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking at a potential move for England international and Lille midfielder Angel Gomes.
The North Londoners have been looking to increase the depth in the middle of the park at White Hart Lane as Ange Postecoglou is left with light with options. The Australian head coach has been looking to sign a player who can be a hybrid of attacking midfielder and eight role, with Conor Gallagher being the reference point for the past couple of transfer windows. The Lilywhites could now look to move for his England teammate Angel Gomes, per GMS, who has been subject to ample speculation as his contract with the French giants comes to a conclusion at the end of an ongoing campaign.

And John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, insists that Tottenham could agree on a pre-contract with the 24-year-old ace in January, as he acknowledges that the player would instantly be worth £15 million as soon as he moves to White Hart Lane.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“Gomes would count as homegrown, as he came through Manchester United’s academy.
“He would be available on a free transfer next summer. Therefore, Tottenham could agree a pre-contract with him in January.
“By signing him for free and agreeing a five-year contract with him, he would be worth £15million right away, simply based on the value attached to that contract.”
Gomes has been impressing in abundance since he moved to the French League, and as a result, he was also called up to the England camp. His progress has taken notice as multiple English top-tier clubs look to fortify interests in his signatures, including Spurs.
That being said now it is to be seen if the North Londoners can agree a deal to bring the 24-year-old to White Hart Lane.
