Leeds United’s big difference to Sheffield United explained with ‘one goal’ mentality verdict
Jayden Bogle has opened up on moves from the Blades to Elland Road last summer
Leeds United’s winning mentaltiy sets them aside from their big Championship rivals, including Sheffield United – according to a man who has played for both clubs.
Jayden Bogle made the shift from south to west Yorkshire in the summer transfer window, leaving Bramall Lane for Elland Road in a move which didn’t go down well with Blades boss Chris Wilder. The 24-year-old has quickly become an important part of Daniel Farke’s squad, scoring twice and missing just one game through suspension.
Sheffield United are one of Leeds’ big promotion rivals, of course, but Bogle has revealed that there is a different mentality at Elland Road – and one which will stand them in good stead over the course of the campaign.
“I’d say just the feeling and mentality of the place,” he told BBC Radio Leeds when asked about the key difference. “From the minute I spoke to people from the place I just sensed there was one goal, which is obviously to get promoted and win as many games as possible.
“Approaching every game with the mindset of we’re winning this game. I would say the mindset of the whole club, fanbase, support, atmosphere at the ground, all of them things bring a winning feeling to the place.”
Bogle has also turned out for Derby County before moving to Sheffield United in 2020. He played 103 times for the Blades, but recently opened up to the No Behaviour Podcast about the size of his current employer.
