Milwaukee Brewers Ship Devin Williams To LA Dodgers In Proposed Trade Package
The Milwaukee Brewers are keen on parting ways with Devin Williams. The Brewers pitcher did not have a productive 2024 season, but his overall stats look great. Pat Murphy and his squad are eager to bolster their bullpen. With Williams on the trade block, they have a great chance to get what they want.
Milwaukee needs closers, and the Los Angeles Dodgers could make great use of a pitcher like Williams. The 30-year-old has a decent 27-10 record with a strong 1.83 ERA. Williams has 375 strikeouts and holds a 1.02 WHIP.
Tim Kelly from the Bleacher Report stated that the Dodgers will need someone to fill their spot. With Devin Williams in mind, both teams could benefit from the trade.
“They’ll either need to re-sign Teoscar Hernández or find someone else to fill that void in the outfield. And if (Devin) Williams and/or (Ryan) Helsley get traded, the Dodgers make sense as a landing spot for one of the star closers,” Kelly said.
The Dodgers have Brusdar Graterol on the injured list and they have not provided a qualifying offer for Walker Buehler. The Brewers could obtain a star pitcher from the Dodgers in return for Williams. The Dodgers have a strong farm system, something that the Brewers lack.
The Brew-Crew highly depends on homegrown players. Sending Williams to LA could bring them some powerful arms in return.
