Brighton’s response to Evan Ferguson news revealed – Insider.
Brighton plan to accept an offer for Evan Ferguson in the January transfer window if they receive a substantial bid.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the club will not stand in his way if he pushes for an exit.
This comes shortly after Football Insider exclusively revealed on Friday 22 November that the 20-year-old wants to leave Brighton in January after growing unhappy with his lack of game time.
Now, it has been said that if the Seagulls receive an offer they deem acceptable, they will look to reinvest the money into their squad.
The club have shown in the past that they are willing to accept offers for their best players if they feel they can improve upon them with smart transfer business.
Ferguson remains highly rated at the Amex and there are high hopes for his development, but his style of play does not fit that of Fabian Hurzeler.
As a result, they are refusing to rule out his possible departure and will listen to any formal offers which arrive during the transfer window.

Now, Brown, who has a wealth of experience working closely with players at the top level including over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that Brighton could be better off from cashing in on the striker.
“I’m told they won’t stand in his way if he wants to leave,” he told Football Insider.
“They’ll listen to the offers that arrive and if they receive one that is deemed acceptable, he’ll go.
“They’ll see it as being able to cash in on an asset and then they can reinvest elsewhere.
“We’ve seen it so many times before with Brighton, they sell a major player and you wonder how they’re going to replace them, but then they find someone better.
“Ferguson doesn’t get in their team because they’ve got players who suit the system better.
“He’s still highly-rated and there are high hopes for him, but a significant offer would do the job.
Brighton
“From his point of view, he needs to be playing regular football if he wants to develop into the sort of player many have tipped him to be.“
