Sheffield Wednesday fans had a hilarious chant for Hull City supporters on Tuesday night.
Sheffield Wednesday left the MKM Stadium with all three points on Tuesday night, following a 2-0 win against Hull City.
For Sheffield Wednesday, it’s a third win in their last four away games in the league, with Danny Rohl’s side moving up into 12th place of the Championship table in the process.
Hull City were poor on the night. But the Owls attacked and defended well, with Josh Windass scoring from the spot and Michael Smith adding a second late on.
After the game, Lee Bullen hailed Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper James Beadle who kept the Owls in the game with a couple of fine saves in the first half.
Elsewhere, Barry Bannan shone in midfield for Sheffield Wednesday, who could easily have won the game by three of four goals in the end.
It proved to be a memorable night for the travelling Sheffield Wednesday fans who were in full voice throughout the game, and who were heard singing one quite hilarious chant.
What the Sheffield Wednesday fans were singing at Hull City on Tuesday night
Throughout the game, Wednesday fans could be heard singing a number of chants, including ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ aimed at Tigers boss Tim Walter.
At one point, both sets of fans were in unison chanting ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ as Walter’s early struggles at Hull City continue.
But as Wednesday cruised towards the win, the Owls faithful in the away end at the MKM Stadium took the Hull City chant, ‘You’re getting mauled by the Tigers’, and made it their own.
Alex Miller posted on X: “‘You’re getting mauled by the Wednesday’ sing the away allocation.”
How many Sheffield Wednesday fans went to Hull City on Tuesday night?
As ever, it seems, Sheffield Wednesday sold out their allocation for what was a Yorkshire derby away at Hull City on Tuesday night.
It was reported earlier in November that the Owls had sold 2,286 tickets for the game at Hull City, with the away end notably packed long after full-time as Rohl celebrated with the fans.
And for the upcoming Championship game away at Derby County on Sunday, it’s another away day sell-out for Sheffield Wednesday fans, who quickly snapped up their allocation of 3,111 for the game at Pride Park.
Kick off is at 3pm on Sunday and the game will be shown live on Sky Sports.
