Leeds United squad revealed for Luton Town with four players absent.
A look at the options Daniel Farke has at his disposal for today’s clash.
As far as Daniel Farke is concerned, Luton Town are in a false position. “For me they are one of the contenders for the top six,” said the Leeds United boss at his pre-match press conference.
“There’s no doubt about this, they played last season in the Premier League. When you are relegated it’s quite often difficult to avoid a hangover in the Championship. Sometimes you have to accept a poor start. They still have lots of quality and physicality in their team. They have a manager who has worked miracles for them.”
The Whites enter tonight’s clash on the back of successive wins over Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City. Three points would consolidate their position at the top of the table. “We won 90 points last season but we’re not happy because we didn’t finish in the top two,” said Farke. “We know right now we’re in a good spell but even after such a game we speak about the things that were not perfect.”
Tonight’s clash will come too soon for Isaac Schmidt, who is still on the mend from minor hernia surgery. Dominican Republic international Junior Firpo will serve the final match of his three-game suspension, meaning Sam Byram will continue to deputise at left-back.
Club captain Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev (both knee) remain unavailable for selection as Farke ponders changes to his starting XI for their second match in the space of four days.
