Tottenham chief Daniel Levy is reportedly eyeing Burnley sensation James Trafford or Sunderland’s hot prospect Anthony Patterson for a January swoop as Spurs search for a stand-in for versatile Guglielmo Vicario. The keeper is out of action for an extended stretch after incurring a broken ankle in Tottenham’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Manchester City last Saturday.
Despite the knock, picked up 30 minutes into the Etihad battle, Vicario bravely soldiered on for the full match. He has since undergone an ankle operation and embarked on the road to recovery.

On Instagram, Vicario commented on his predicament: “I played 60 minutes at the Etihad with a broken bone in my ankle, giving absolutely everything I had for the team,” he said.
“Unfortunately there was no way around this one. I needed surgery. I’m disappointed I won’t be able to help the team for a while.”
