The New York Jets may have agreed to one of the worst trades in franchise history when they acquired Aaron Rodgers from the New York Jets during the 2023 off-season. At the time, New York felt as though they were one quarterback away from being a legitimate Super Bowl Contender.
Unfortunately, that first Jets team never got to find out if they were Super Bowl caliber due to a season ending Achilles injury to Aaron Rodgers just four offensive plays into the season.
2024 has been an absolute nightmare as New York finds themselves 3-8 through their first 11 games.
However, 2025 could look a lot different.
It appears there may not be a third season with New York
Aaron Rodgers is still contemplating whether to play football next season, but according to NFL Network, if he decides to play for one more year, it certainly will not be for the Jets.
In the midst of another disappointing season, the New York Jets continue their streak of missing the playoffs.
The former Green Bay quarterback has thrown 2442 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while completing 63.4% of his passes.
Whether Rodgers will play in 2025 is still up in the air.
In an interview with McAfee, Rodgers said, “I am not even sure whether I want to play yet, but I would choose New York first.”
