Yankees Pitcher Responds to Dodgers’ Trash Talk After World Series
After winning the World Series, several Dodgers debriefed the postseason on a roundtable on the podcast “On Base with Mookie Betts”. Max Muncy, Walker Buehler, Michael Kopech, Tommy Edman, and Chris Taylor were among those who joined Betts on the episode.
The Dodgers gave the inside scoop on their run to the eighth World Series title in franchise history. However, the team received backlash regarding negative comments about the New York Yankees.

New York’s subpar defense in the fifth inning of Game 5 of the World Series was a hot topic as they allowed Los Angeles to come back from a five-run deficit. Specifically, Taylor said, “We’re all kind of thinking it — (the Yankees) kind of (crapped) down their leg.”
Although some of the comments were harsh, Yankees starting pitcher Luis Gil did not take it personally. In fact, he is already looking ahead to the future.
“That’s just part of baseball,” Gil said on Foul Territory through his interpreter Rafa Nieves when asked about the trash talking. “There’s still a lot of baseball to play ahead of them. This is just one year, and there’s many years to come.
